Parker Hann, 82, of Harrisonville, PA passed away Sunday, December 25th, 2011 at his residence.
Parker was born in Harrisonville, PA on June 11, 1929, the son of the late Reuben C. and Della (Schetrompf) Hann. He was the husband of Alice H. (Helsel) Hann whom he married on May 29, 1950.
Mr. Hann served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Brownson during the Korean War, was a member of the Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, PA, the VFW Post# 655 of McConnellsburg, PA, the Teamsters Union in Harrisburg, PA and also was a 32nd degree Mason.
He was a barber in McConnellsburg, PA for a number of years, a retired millwright from Mack Truck in Hagerstown, MD after working there for sixteen years and was a farmer all of his life. Parker also was instrumental in starting the Great Cove Golf Course in McConnellsburg, PA.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by Sister Mary Louise Vance of Harrisonville, PA, Brother Reuben D. Hann of Harrisonville, PA, Half Sister Audrey Weeder of Virginia and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sons Rory Parker and Timothy David Hann, sister Dorothy Carl and brothers Herbert and Harold Hann.
Religious Service at Sideling Hill Christian Church, 10424 Sipes Mill Road, Needmore, PA 17238 at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 29th, 2011 with Pastor William Swope officiating.
Interment at Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
There will be visitation on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the church.
Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
