Pamela L. Deshong

Pamela L. DeShong, 56, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Thursday, February 4th, 2021 at Cadia Health Care, Hyattsville, MD.

Pamela was born in Washington, D.C. on November 30, 1964, the daughter of Dorothy (Swope) Royal, of Greencastle, PA and the late John E. Royal.  She was the wife of Tim R. DeShong whom she married on May 8, 1987.

Mrs. DeShong was a 1982 graduate of Manheim Central High School and after graduating from nursing school, she was a LPN at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, PA until 2016 and then worked as a private care giver.  Pamela attended the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene in Harrisonville, PA and enjoyed reading, shopping and her grandchildren.  She also loved going on vacation.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by daughter Melissa J. (wife of Edgar) Martz, of McConnellsburg, PA, son Bradley R. (husband of Lisa) DeShong, of Hagerstown, MD, brothers Daryl J. (husband of Wendy) Royal, of Lititz, PA, John F. (husband of Christine) Royal, of Manheim, PA, grandchildren Arionna and Tylar DeShong and Laila and Jacoby Martz.  She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Pamela was preceded in death by niece,  Amber Royal.

The family will host a visitation on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021 from 5 to 8 PM   at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene, Harrisonville, PA.  Please follow CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19.

Religious Service at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene, Harrisonville, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 10th, 2021  with Pastor Willis Swope and Pastor Josh Shadle officiating.

Interment at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA.
