Orville W. Mellott

Orville W. Mellott, 82, of Needmore, PA passed away Friday April 17, 2015 at his residence. Orville was born in Needmore, PA on January 25, 1933, the son of the late Blaine L.W. Mellott and Ditha May (Truax) Mellott. In his younger years, he attended the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Needmore, PA and was a retired crane operator from JLG Industries, McConnellsburg, PA after working there for twenty-five years.  He enjoyed farming, hunting and blue grass music. Mr. Mellott is survived by daughter Deborah Diane Mellott of Needmore, PA, Son Blaine Leroy Mellott of Hagerstown, MD, Sisters Treva Starr of  Three Springs, PA, Mary Miles of Florida, Esther (wife of Dale) Mellott of Shimerstown, PA, Mabel Mellott of McConnellsburg, PA, brothers Ray (husband of Pat) Mellott of Needmore, PA, Foster (husband of Barbara) Mellott of Needmore, PA, Sheldon (husband of Judy) Mellott of Waynesboro, PA, Virgil Mellott of Needmore, PA, five grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by infant sister Evelyn Mellott and two great grandsons. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 21st, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA with Pastor Bill Swope officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 20th, 2015 from 2 to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment at Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
