Norman Eugene (Gene) Lee Schriver, 82, of Warfordsburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, May 28th, 2014 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born at his parent's homeplace at Stoney Break in Warfordsburg, PA on March 24, 1932, the son of the late Russcella (Hill) and Cecil Upton Schriver.  He was the husband of Glenda Eileen (Karns) Schriver whom he has been married to for sixty-three years. Eugene graduated from Warfordsburg High School in 1950.  He was owner of his business Schriver Building and Repair Service from 1960 to 1962, a finish carpenter for Fred Truax from 1952 to 1962 and was employed in September of 1962 at U.S. Silica in Berkeley Springs, WV for twenty-eight years ending in retirement as a maintenance supervisor in April of 1990. Mr. Schriver was a member and officer of the Masonic Lodge #173 in Hancock, MD reaching thirty-two degree mason in 1975. was a member of the Harrisburg Consistory in Harrisburg, PA and the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona, PA.  His past-time favorites included fishing, hunting, spending time with family and especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by Son Marlin E. (husband of Judy) Schriver of Harrisonville, PA, Daughters Marilyn L. (wife of Jim) Testerman of Mercersburg, PA, Marlinda S. (wife of Wade) Hobson of Bakersville, NC, Grandchildren Christopher J. E. (husband of Kelly) Schriver, Garrett L. (husband of Carla) Schriver, Will E. (husband of Cassie) Schriver, Shawna L. (wife of Kenny) Gearhart, Great Grandchildren Cody Gearhart, Trevor White, Lynndee, Wyatt, Colton, Dyllan and Sadie Schriver, Step-Grandchildren Donna Whortel, Amanda Carpenter, Nicole Fisher, Stephanie McCullagh, Step-Great Grandchildren Alexis, Jada and Zoe Wortman, Cody Whortel, Sydney and Logan Fisher, Kristin Sehy and Austin McCullagh.  Preceded in death by sisters Nellie O. Ours, Mary E. Trail, Maxine G. Swain, Mabel L. Green, Ethel E. Swain, infant sisters Margaret L. Schriver, Amy R. Schriver, brothers Cecil L. Schriver, John S. Schriever and and infant brother George H. Schriver.  He was the last surviving child of eleven children spanning a generation that endured for 109 years. Religious Service at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, PA, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 31st, 2014  with Pastor Roger Truax officiating. Visitation will be  Friday, May 30, 2014 from 2 to 8 PM. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Saturday at the church . A masonic service will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 7:00 PM. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Artemas, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington MedStar Heart Clinic, 110 Irving Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20010 or The Shriner's Children's Hospital at www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
