Norma K. (Hixson) Deshong

Norma K. DeShong, 82, of Needmore, PA, died Friday, October 15th, 2010 in , Mercersburg, Pa. Norma was born in Crystal Springs, PA on October 16, 1927, the daughter of the late N. B. and Essie (Williams) Hixson. She was the widow of Baltzer A. DeShong, whom she married in 1958.  He preceded her in death in 1999. She worked as a beautician and homemaker.  Norma loved gardening. She is survived by her daughter Sheila M. Swope wife of Kermit of Warfordsburg, PA and sister Arlene Sorrells of Arlington, VA.   She is also survived by one grandaughter Brandy Swope of Miami, FL.  She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother. Funeral service will be held at the Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, PA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 18th,  with Rev. Doug Poffenberger officiating. Interment at Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg, PA. There will be visitation on Sunday, October 17 from 2 to 8 PM at the  Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, PA.  There will also be one hour of visitation before the service at the church.
