Myron D. Stone, Sr.

Myron D. Stone, Sr., 72, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 24th, 2015 at his residence. Myron was born in Woodbury Township, PA on July 15, 1942, the son of the late Evelyn Odessa (Detwiler) and Myron O. Stone.  He was the husband of Wanda C. (Tibbs) Stone whom he married on February 14, 1964. Mr. Stone was of the Lutheran faith,  served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War, was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #655, McConnellsburg, PA, the American Legion Post #561, McConnellsburg, PA, the American Fisherman's Club and the NRA.  Myron retired from the US Army and then worked at the H.B. Mellott quarry in Warfordsburg, PA upon retiring. In addition to his wife, he is survived by Daughters Katherine W. (wife of Keith) Connelly of McConnellsburg, PA, Melody C. (wife of Eric) Stone-Wald of Columbia, MD, Son Myron D. (husband of Maria) Stone, Jr. of McConnellsburg, PA, Half-Brother Richard Stone of Bedford, PA, Step-Brother Leonard Weyant of Fayetteville, PA, nine grandchildren and one great grandson. Memorial Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 28th, 2015.  Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard. Visitation will be Saturday, March 28th, 2015 from 10 AM to 1 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.
