Morris E. Crouse

Morris E. Crouse, 78, of Hustontown, PA passed away Thursday, October 1st, 2015 at J.C. Blair Hospital, Huntingdon, PA. Morris was born in Big Cove Tannery, PA on December 14, 1936, the son of the late Alta G. (Mellott) and Donald J. Crouse.  He was the husband of Charlotte R. (Barnett) Crouse whom he married on June 12, 1959. He served in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, was a member of the former Hustontown Methodist Church where he served as Trustee for several years and when he was able, he attended the Faith Assembly of God Church in Amaranth, PA, member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Harrisonville, PA and was a lifetime member of the Hustontown Volunteer Fire Company where he served numerous positions, was Fireman of the Year in 1975 and was active until recently.  Mr. Crouse was a foreman at De Rose Ind. in Chambersburg, PA for thirty-six years and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and vacations at Ocean City, MD. In addition to his wife, he is survived by Daughter Pam (wife of Ed) Karczewski of Hustontown, PA, Sister Alma D. (wife of Russell) Plessinger of Warfordsburg, PA, Grandchildren Nathan and Emily Karczewski of Hustontown, PA.  Preceded in death by son Loni Crouse, sisters Martha Pittman, Audrey Peck, Freida Mannetti, Orpha Ritchey, Natalie Guessford, brothers Calvin Crouse and Troy Crouse who passed away the following day. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 6:00 PM on Monday, October 5th,  2015 with Pastor Delmas Bard officiating. Visitation will be Monday, October 5th, 2015 from 4 to 6 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard. The family requests the omission of flowers.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bedford County Humane Society, 1108 Lutzville Road, Everett, PA 15537.
