Mona E. Morton

Mona E. Morton, 86, a resident of Manor Care Nursing Home and formerly of Harrisonville, PA passed away Saturday, July 2nd, 2016 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA Mona was born in Harrisonville, PA on August 28, 1929, the daughter of the late Dorothy (Souders) and Clem  Schooley.  She was the widow of Herman W. Morton whom she married on September 1, 1948 and he passed away on May 22, 2007. She was a member of the Sideling Hill Christian Church in Needmore, PA and also their Ladies Aide, was a seamstress at Sagner, Inc. in McConnellsburg, PA for over twenty years and was a homemaker.  Mona also enjoyed quilting. Mrs. Morton is survived by son Rodney H. (husband of Cheryl) Morton of McConnellsburg, PA, daughter Suellen (wife of Ronald) Henry of Fayetteville, PA, sister Martha Lynch of Needmore, PA, grandchildren April Henry, Brandon Morton, Amy Morton, great grandchildren Gracey and Ellie Morton.  Preceded in death by brothers Blaine and Noll Schooley, sisters Nancy Strait, Grace Rosenberry, Ardema Hoover, Olma Frelin and Glenna Kaufman. Religious Service at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, PA at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 7th, 2016 with Pastor William Swope officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 6th, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the church. Interment at Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery, Needmore, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sideling Hill Christian Church Building Fund, 10424 Sipes Mill Road, Needmore, PA 17238. Arrangements were made by the Howard L.
