Mildred E. (Nelson) Hampton

Mildred E. Hampton , 85, of Pleasant Ridge Rd. Needmore, PA, passed away Friday, February 25th, 2011 at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA. Mildred was born in Rosman, NC on March 10, 1925, the daughter of the late James and Clara (Batson) Nelson.  She was the widow of Carl Nathan Hampton, whom she married in 1955. He preceded her in death in on May 16, 1981. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Needmore, PA .  She worked as a Seamstress at London Fog Hancock, MD.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her sons Jeffrey L. Hampton of Needmore, PA., Ronald E. Hampton of Bedford, PA., and Russell L. Hampton of Phoenix, AZ.  She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Don, Jack, and Charles Nelson and 2 sisters Betty Hampton and Eugenia Callahan Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., , McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM with one hour of visitation before the service at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 1st,  with Rev. Roger Truax officiating.
