Mildred E. Gelvin

Mildred E. Gelvin, 85, of McConnellsburg, PA and formerly of Ft. Littleton, PA passed away Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Mildred was born in McConnellsburg, PA on November 25, 1936, the daughter of the late Ruth E. (Seville) and Charles E. Truax.  She was the widow of Edwin C. "Eddie" Gelvin, Sr. whom she married on June 13, 1953 and he passed away on March 19, 2015. She was the  owner of the Tollhouse Restaurant in Ft. Littleton, PA and made some of the best pie's you could ask for.  Mildred attended the Cito United Methodist Church in her younger years.  She enjoyed crocheting, singing and spending time with her family. Mrs. Gelvin is survived by daughter Kathy (wife of Ernie) Seiders, of McConnellsburg, PA, sons Ricky C. Gelvin, of Waterfall, PA, Mike (husband of Tammy) Gelvin, of Hustontown, PA, Boyd W. Gelvin, Sr., of Three Springs, PA, sister Shirley (wife of Ray) Kohr, of Hustontown, PA, brothers Richard "Dick" (husband of Linda) Truax, of Hustontown, PA, Steve "Gup"  Truax, of Hustontown, PA, eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.  Mildred was preceded in death by son Edwin Eddie Gelvin, Jr, sisters Marie Pittman, Alma Hook, Janet Barnett, brothers Charles Truax, Jr., John N. Truax, Sr., Gary Truax and Herbert Lee Truax. A memorial service will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 11th, 2022  with Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating.  Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment of Mildred and her late husband Eddie Gelvin, Sr. will be at Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg, PA following the memorial service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.howardlsipes.com.
