Mildred M. (Bishop) Truax

Mildred M. Truax, 74, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Friday, January 18th, 2013 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA. Mildred was born in Big Cove Tannery, PA on February 14, 1938, the daughter of the late Virgil and Ruby J. (Johnson) Bishop.  She was the widow of Charles E. Truax, Jr whom she married on May 15, 1955 and he passed away on March 23, 2012. She worked at the Sagner Sewing Factory in McConnellsburg, PA until closing and then retired from the Stanley Co. in Chambersburg, PA.  After retiring, she worked at the American Legion Post #561 in McConnellsburg, PA and The Boar's End in McConnellsburg, PA until 2008. Mrs. Truax is survived by Daughters Betty L. O'Hara of Palmetto, FL, Vicki L. Truax-Woodson of Frederick, MD, Tonya L. Schetrompf of McConnellsburg, PA, Son Charles E. Truax, III of McConnellsburg, PA, Sisters Martha Shoemaker of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Helen Gracey of Waterfall, PA, Lois Cobaugh of Hummellstown, PA, Elena Seiders of Middletown, PA, Nancy Bryner of Berkley Springs, WV, Brothers Calvin Bishop of Hagerstown, MD, Charles Bishop of McConnellsburg, PA, Harold Bishop of McConnellsburg, PA, John Bishop of McConnellsburg, PA, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Jean Bishop, Mary Jane Fetters, brothers William Allen Bishop and George D. Bishop. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013  with Pastor Lyle Mellott officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the Family. There will be visitation on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013 from 2 to 8 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Howard L.
