Maynard C. "Bill" Gordon

Maynard C. (Bill) Gordon, 90, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA. Bill was born in Needmore, PA on April 8, 1920, the son of the late Morgan and Carrie (Kershner) Gordon.  He was the widower of June E. (Nesbit) Gordon whom he married on August 5, 1948 and she passed away on September 22, 2009. Mr. Gordon was of the Protestant faith, was a member of the Mt. Zion Lodge #774 in McConnellsburg, PA and was co-owner of McCray Building & Supply Company in Warfordsburg, PA. He is survived by Son Gregory (husband of Vickie) Gordon of McConnellsburg, PA, Step-Daughter Sara E. (Sally) (wife of the late James) Stoops of Duncannon, PA, Sisters Margaret (wife of the late Cam) McCray of Warfordsburg, PA, Estalene (wife of Randolph) Clark of Glenelg, MD, Louise Welsh of Jacksonville, FL, Grandchildren Lisa Hosmann (wife of Patrick), Holly  Stambaugh (wife of Shaun), Sheila Naylor (wife of Charles), Danny Chaney (husband of Rebecca), Great Grandchildren Bristol Stambaugh, Garrett Naylor, Gavin Chaney and Courtnay Chaney. Preceded in death by daughter Laraine Chaney (wife of Barry) and sister Alice McKee (wife of the late Herbert McKee). Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 1st, 2011  with Pastor John Godissart officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA. There will be visitation on Monday, January 31, 2011 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bill to the McConnellsburg Senior Center, 100 Woodside Drive, McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
