Max E. Harr, 68, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at his residence.
Max was born in Big Cove Tannery, PA on July 21, 1945, the son of the late Ernest G. and Virginia M. (Crouse) Harr. He was the husband of Robin A. (Strait) Harr whom he married on August 18, 1972.
Mr. Harr served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt in the Vietnam War, was a member of the Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, PA, the church choir and was a self-employed mason.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by Daughter Tanya R. (wife of John) Braswell of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Son Charles E. (husband of Dusty) Harr of McConnellsburg, PA, Sisters Mary Clever of West Virginia, Martha Harr of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Marie "Liz" Stine of Marion, PA, Brothers Melvin "Bill" Harr of Chambersburg, PA, Merrill "Tim" Harr of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Morrow "Mike" Harr of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Marlin "Sonny" Harr of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Marvin "Bus" Harr of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Grandchildren Chloe Rife, Isaiah Rife, Jared Braswell, Ellie Harr, Avrie Harr and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers Mervin "Tommy" Harr, Myron "Short" Harr and Mark Harr.
Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 5th, 2014 with Pastor William Bair officiating.
Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
There will be visitation on Tuesday, March 4th, 2014 from 2 to 8 PM. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
