Max J. Deshong

Max J. DeShong, 84, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Tuesday, February 9th, 2021 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Max was born in Todd Township, PA on June 22, 1936,the son of the late Olive M. (Fix) and Harry A. DeShong.  He was the husband of Mary J. (Black) DeShong whom he married on June 22, 1958.

Mr. DeShong served in  the U.S. Marines and attended the Cito United Methodist Church when he was able.  Max retired from James River Printing in Chambersburg, PA and also did masonry work in his spare time.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Michael J. DeShong (companion Donna Rohm), of McConnellsburg, PA, John A.  DeShong, of Fayetteville, PA, brother James Nelson DeShong, of McConnellsburg, PA, grandchildren Coty J. DeShong (companion A'Leese Dickerson), of McConnellsburg, PA, Jacquelyn Ann (wife of Granville) Washington, of Chambersburg, PA, Jamie Lee Crout, of Elyria, OH and five great grandchildren.  Max was preceded in death by sisters Betty Christian, Julia Chestnut, brothers William DeShong, Jack A. DeShong, Sr., daughter-in-law Teresa M. (Baughman) DeShong and two infant sisters.
