Mark Y. Atkinson

Mark Y. Atkinson, 80, of Harrisonville, PA, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023 at his son's home in Harrisonville, PA.

Mark was born in Sellersville, PA on March 6, 1943, a son of the late Anna Kathryn (Yothers) and Henry  Atkinson.  He was the husband of Grace E. (Myers) Atkinson, who she married on October 28, 1967.

Mark was a member of the Mountain View Mennonite Church in McConnellsburg, PA.  He served  on the association of the Sharon Mennonite Bible Institute in Harrisonville, PA.  Mark worked for almost forty years in the print shop at the Heralds of Hope, Inc. Harrisonville, PA.  In his younger years, he drove truck for MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) and also did HVAC work before moving to Fulton County.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Dana M. (husband of Regina) Atkinson, of Mill Hall, PA, Cara Lisa Horst, of Fort Loudon, PA, Roseanna J. (wife of Gerald ) Lapp, of Lewisburg, PA, Robert L. Atkinson, of Harrisonville, PA, Benjamin A. Atkinson, of Lincoln, NE, Timothy L. (Joanna) Atkinson, of Harrisonville, PA, Mary Beth (wife of Lavon) Slabaugh, of Nappanee, IN, brother James (husband of Rita) Atkinson, of Orville, OH, sisters Dorothy (wife of David) Miller, of New Tripoli, PA, Evelyn (wife of Craig) Chapman, of CA and Mary Ann Atkinson of Harleysville, PA.  He was preceded in death by an infant brother Luke Atkinson.

There will be a visitation held on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 3 PM to 6 PM at the Mountain View Mennonite Church, McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be one hour of visitation held prior to the service on Monday at the church.

Funeral services will be held at the Mountain View Mennonite Church, McConnellsburg, PA, at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 27, 2023, with Mountain View Mennonite Ministries officiating.  Interment will be at the Mountain View Mennonite Church Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.
