Marian Park, 85, a resident of the Fulton County Long Term Care Unit and formerly of Burnt Cabins, PA, went to be with her Lord Thursday, May 2nd, 2013, with her family by her side.
Marian was born in Fort Littleton, PA on June 23, 1927, the daughter of the late Preston I. and Revel E. (Gelvin) Wilson. She was the widow of Lewis H. Park, whom she married on March 15, 1946. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1982.
In her early years, Marian attended the Fort Littleton Elementary School and the Hustontown High School. She then went to work at the Howard Johnsons restaurant on the PA Turnpike in Panghorn, PA as a waitress. She then became a homemaker, raising 3 children and working at Sagners in McConnellsburg, PA for several years. Marian was a charter member of the Burnt Cabins Bible Church and a former member of the Burnt Cabins United Methodist Church. She was also a member of American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. She loved gardening, sewing, camping and spending time with her family.
She is survived by 2 daughters Sharon (wife of Allen) L. Coffman of Chambersburg, PA, Karen (wife of David R.) P. Smith of Needmore. PA, and a brother Samuel (husband of Rena) R. Wilson of York, PA. She is also survived by 3 loving granchidren Brian A. Coffman, Erica A. Coffman both of Chambersburg, PA, Sherri Park Hall of King George, VA, 4 loving great grandchildren Emily Hall, Sara Hall, Lindsey Hall, Anna Hall, all of King George, VA and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son PFC Richard L. Park, who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country in 1971 in Vietman and a brother Eugene Wilson
Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 7th, with Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating.
Interment at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.
There will be visitation on Monday 2 PM to 8 PM. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
