Mabel G. (Wright) Brant

Mabel G. Brant, 95, of Harrisonville, PA passed away Wednesday, January 6th, 2016 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Mabel was born in Taylor Township, PA on June 9, 1920, the daughter of the late Mary E. (Miller) and John L. Wright.  She was the widow of Harry R. "Dick" Brant whom she married on December 24, 1940 and he passed away on June 27, 2009. Mrs. Brant was the oldest member of the Fairview United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, PA since 2010, past member of the VFW Post #655 Ladies Auxiliary in McConnellsburg, PA, was the first treasurer of the Wells-Taylor PTA in 1955 and was a retired cafeteria cook at the Forbes Road High School after twenty-six years of service. Mabel was also a homemaker who enjoyed working in her garden and cooking for her family. She is survived by son H. Clyde (husband of Phyllis) Brant of Harrisonville, PA, grandson Terry (husband of Kim) Brant, great grandchildren Shelby and Kyle Brant, step-grandson Cody Quartucci and sister-in-law Audrey Wright.  Preceded in death by infant sister Muriel, sisters Margaret Knepper, Myriam Clippinger, Ferne Knepper, Helen Mosebey, brothers Ivan, Maynard, Brinton, Rex and Willis Wright. Religious Service at Fairview United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, PA, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 9th, 2016  with Pastor Jean Swett and Pastor Elaine Shafer-Stroud officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 8th, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Interment at Fairview United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA.
