Louise J. (Reeder) Sharpe

Louise J. Sharpe, 82, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, August 9th, at the Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA. Louise was born in McConnellsburg, PA on July 10, 1935, a daughter of the late Florence (Finniff) and Charles  Reeder.  She was the widower of Jack C. Sharpe, whom she married on October 24, 1953.  He preceded her in death on April 7, 1998. Louise was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church Harrisonville, PA .  She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 519, which she served as the Worthy Matron from 1975 to 1976.  Louise enjoyed playing the piano and singing in church. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much, they meant everything to her. She is survived by her three children; Joe C. (husband of Sandy) Sharpe of Wells Tannery, PA, Ed C. Sharpe of McConnellsburg, PA, and Barbara L. (wife of Robert) Fignar of Fort Loudon, PA.  In addition to her children, she is also survived by her twin sister Lucille Z. Smith, her grandchildren Jason Sharpe, Jarrod Sharpe, Matthew Sharpe, Michael Fignar and Mary Fignar, great grandchildren Jackson Sharpe, Jilleanne Sharpe, Jordanna Sharpe, Cole Sharpe and Vance Sharpe.  She was preceded in death by her brother Warren Reeder. There will be a visitation held on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Funeral service will be held at the Asbury United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, PA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 14th,  with Pastor Ed Sharpe officiating.  There will also be one hour of visitation held before the service at the church.
