Lloyd H. Covert

Lloyd H. Covert, 93, a resident of the Woodland Retirement Community, Orbisonia, PA and formerly of Hustontown, PA, died  Wednesday, October 17th, 2012 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Lloyd was born in Rock Hill Furnace, PA on January 22, 1919, the son of the late Francis and Elsie (Gutchall) Covert.  He is the husband of Vivian J. (Berkstresser) Covert, a resident of the Fulton County Long Term Care Unit, McConnellsburg. They were married on November 6, 1944. Lloyd worked for Lang & Fellows in Baltimore, MD for many years doing constuction work in Baltimore and Washington D.C., before retiring from T.B. Woods in Chambersburg, PA. He was a member of Knobsville United Methodist Church Knobsville, PA and a lifetime member of the Hustontown Volunteer Fire Company. In his early years he enjoyed square dancing and attending flea markets and auctions. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Robert D. Covert (husband of Laura) of Hustontown, PA, sister Lena Snyder of Shade Gap, PA, and brother Melvin Covert of Shade Gap, PA.  He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Ralph, Norman and Janivar Covert Funeral Service will be held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc.,McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 19th,  with Pastor William Kuhn officiating.  There will be a visitation held one hour before the service at the funeral home.
