Linda M. Sowers

Linda M. Sowers, 75, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 at her residence.

Linda was born in Flickerville, PA on September 24, 1948, a daughter of the late Blanche (Munson) and Herman  Mellott.  She was the widow of Donald  A. "Donnie" Sowers, who she married on June 29, 1990.  He preceded her in death on December 18, 2020.

Linda worked as a Social Worker at the Fulton County Medical Center for over thirty years.  She loved music, especially gospel music.  Listening to gospel music always brought the best out in her.  In her younger years, she played in a band, recorded a song and wrote and published a book.  Of all her loves, Linda loved her family the most.

She is survived by her sister Lillian (wife of Kenneth) McFadden, of Hancock, MD and brother Kenneth (husband of Patricia) Barnhart, of Berkeley Springs, WV.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many special cousins, who were like her brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 28th,  with Pastor Becki Wessinger officiating.  There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA.
