Leroy L. Sheeder

Leroy L. Sheeder, 88, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Monday, November 11th, 2019 at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA.

Leroy was born in McConnellsburg, PA on May 3, 1931, the son of the late Edith (Fix) and Roy A. Sheeder.  He was the husband of Helen L. (Souders) Sheeder whom he married on May 24, 1985.

Mr. Sheeder served in the U.S. Army as a CPL(T) during the Korean War, was a member of the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post #561 in McConnellsburg, PA and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #655 in McConnellsburg, PA.  In his earlier years, he worked as a teller at the First National Bank of McConnellsburg and then was a clerk at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission upon retiring in 1992.  Leroy also enjoyed golfing and gardening.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Terry L. (husband of Kim) Sheeder, of McConnellsburg, PA, daughters Pam L. Hollenshead, of McConnellsburg, PA, Jacque I. (wife of Kenny) Brumbaugh, of Harrisonville, PA, step-sons Kenneth R. (husband of Sonya) Peck, of McConnellsburg, PA, David L. Peck, of McConnellsburg, PA, five grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  Leroy was preceded in death by grandson Jordan Hess, sister Betty Jane Mellott, brother George Sheeder and one infant brother.

Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 14th, 2019  with Rev. Joshua W. Davinsizer officiating.  Visitation will be one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.

Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
