Leila M. Strait

Leila M. Strait, 91, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Needmore, PA passed away Sunday, October 2nd, 2016 at The Shook Home, Chambersburg, PA. Leila was born in Needmore, PA on September 23, 1925, the daughter of the late Clara Ethel (Sipes) and Daniel Blair Strait.  She was the widow of Arlie  Strait. She was a member of the Needmore Bible Church in Needmore, PA, was a member of the Needmore Voluntary Fire Company Ladies Auxilliary and was involved with the Pack #45 Cub Scouts in Needmore, PA.  Mrs. Strait had worked at the Sagner Sewing Factory in McConnellsburg, PA until its closing. Leila is survived by daughters Joyce (wife of Chuck) Garland of Greencastle, PA, Barbara (wife of Paul) DeCiccio of Naples, FL, sons Thomas (husband of Louise) Strait of Warfordsburg, PA, Alvin (husband of Brenda) Strait of Colorado Springs, CO, grandchildren Wendy Ritz, Brock Strait, Jeff Garland, Shea White, Brittney Jones, Kyle Strait, Kami Huckstep, eighteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by brothers Clyde, Junior and Gerald Strait. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 8th, 2016  with Pastor Aaron Meredith officiating. Visitation will be Friday, October 7th, 2016 from 2 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Needmore Volunteer Fire Company, 8366 Great Cove Road, Needmore, PA 17238 or the Needmore Community Center, in care of Donald Snyder, P.O.
