Lawrence S. Schooley, 92, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Saturday, April 11th, 2015 at his residence.
Lawrence was born in Harrisonville, PA on November 22, 1922, the son of the late Dottie (Hoop) and Norman Schooley. He was the husband of Elsie Mae (Clark) Schooley whom he married on January 26, 1953.
Mr. Schooley served in the U.S. Army in WW II, attended Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, PA, was a member of the American Legion Post# 561, McConnellsburg, PA and the Mason Dixon Fox Hunters Club in Fawn Grove, PA. He was a retired forklift operator from Letterkenny Army Depot and after retirement, he worked for Plummers in Hagerstown, MD. Lawrence also loved to hunt and fish.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by Son Gary S. Schooley of McConnellsburg, PA, Daughter Tonia C. Metcalf of Mercersburg, PA, Sister Marie Strait of McConnellsburg, PA, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by sisters Olive Hann, Irene Harris, brothers Earl and Walter Schooley and one great great granddaughter.
Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 15th, 2015 with Pastor Kevin Waite officiating. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA.
