Larry J. Cordell

Larry J. Cordell, 62, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, September 4th, 2013 at his residence. Larry was born in Waynesboro, PA on May 14, 1951, the son of the late J. Edward Cordell, III and Katherine (Dewease) Cordell.  He was the husband of Nancy  (Nesbitt) Cordell whom he married in October, 1991. Mr. Cordell was a member of the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee, a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir.  He served in the U.S. Army as a SP4 in the Vietnam War and retired  from the Letterkenny Army Depot in November 2011 with forty years of service. In addition to his wife, he is survived by Sons William (husband of Vanessa) Cordell of Chambersburg, PA, Matthew (husband of Mindy) Cordell of Marion, PA, Paul Wilson (fiance Nicole Shives) of McConnellsburg, PA, Daughter Kelli Cordell (fiance Justin Miller) of Pittsburgh, PA, Sister Bonnie (wife of Linford) Yoder of Greencastle, PA, Brothers John (husband of Diane) of Greencastle, PA, Garry (husband of Joyce) of Greencastle, PA, Timothy (husband of Cheryl) of Greencastle, PA, Daniel (husband of Barb) of Greencastle, PA, Stephen (husband of Cindy) of Hagerstown, MD, James (husband of Melinda) of Chambersburg, PA, Grandchildren Kaleb Cordell, Madilynne Cordell, Colton Cordell, Mikaela Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews. Religious Service at McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, McConnellsburg, PA, at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 7th, 2013 with Pastor John Godissart officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery,  McConnellsburg, PA. There will be visitation on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 3 to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McConnellsburg United Methodist Church New Building Fund, 121 North 2nd St.,  McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
