Kenneth Fowler Wisner, 81, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away on March 16, 2011 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD. He had been in failing health for the past three weeks.
Kenneth was born October 27, 1929 in Union Mills, MD, the son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Fowler) Wisner.
He spent his early life in the Westminster, MD area, was a 1946 graduate of Westminster High School and a graduate of The University of Baltimore. Mr. Wisner served in the U.S. Army, was employed at various companies as an accountant and was currently employed at Christian Social Services. He was a member of the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, the Gideon's and DeMolay State Master Counselor 1950, Howard Lodge AF&AM #101 of Maryland, a 32nd degree Mason, with fifty-nine years of service and held various positions within these organizations.
Mr. Wisner married Helen (Couch) Wisner on February 14, 1953 in Ft. Mead, MD. She preceded him in death in May of 1986. He is survived by his second wife Beverly Wisner whom he married on October 24, 1987, two sons, Paul Wisner of Waynesboro, PA, Mark (husband of Kimberly) Wisner of Quincy, PA, step-son Rodney (husband of Bonnie) Buterbaugh of McConnellsburg, PA, granddaughters Sarah (wife of Craig) Gorzelsky, Rachel Wisner both of Quincy, PA, step-grandchildren Rodney Junior and Morgan Buterbaugh of McConnellsburg, PA, great grandson Luke Gorzelsky of Quincy, PA and brother Carl (husband of Doris) Wisner of Westminster, MD.
Funeral service will be Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 1 P.M. at the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, 121 North Second Street, McConnellsburg, PA 17233 with Pastor John Godissart officiating.
Interment at Meadow Branch Cemetery, Westminster, MD.
Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2011 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., 873 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.
A masonic service will be held on Friday at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
