Kandi Sue Carbaugh

Kandi Sue Carbaugh, 25, of Warfordsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. Born in Chambersburg, PA on October 19, 1985, she was the daughter of Paul H. and Karen S. (Crawford) Carbaugh of Warfordsburg, PA. Kandi attended Chambersburg Area Schools through ninth grade before moving to Warfordsburg.  She graduated with the class of 2004 from Southern Fulton High School.  Kandi  attended Hagerstown Community College and also  attended Whips Cove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, PA.  She worked on fund raising events for the church through flower sales at Christmas and Easter every year along with helping with the annual church festival.  She really enjoyed assisting in the nursery during Sunday school and church services. Kandi never met a baby she didn't like and that didn't like her.  She would of liked to have done childcare but health would not permit.  Most of her happiest memories were about the children she helped at  church or at Ronda' s Daycare.  There wasn't a cat that Kandi did not love and of course Daisy her horse. She enjoyed watching movies, assembling jigsaw puzzles and buying gifts for other small kids.  Many of her jigsaw puzzles have been framed and shared with family and friends.  Kandi was a very sharing person especially with small children and babies.  She enjoyed visits from family and friends especially playing table top games.  She especially enjoyed participating at the Franklin County Therapeutic Riding Program at Chambersburg, PA.  She had the opportunity to adopt her favorite horse, Daisy, when it was time for Daisy's retirement from the program.  Every cow and cat on the farm received a name from Kandi, she thought that each one needed a name. Although those remaining behind did not have much time with Kandi, we all know that Kandi now sings with the angels.  Kandi suffered from multiple health issues and complications associated with Prader-Willi Syndrome.  Her fight for life and to live began from the time she was born.  The fight for life was strongly supported by her loving and devoted mom.  Karen was always there for Kandi and she was very blessed with the support. In additon to her parents, she is survived by sister Heidi Jo (wife of Dustin) Green of Chambersburg, PA, brothers Keith A. Carbaugh of Waynesboro, PA, Troy L. (husband of Donna) Carbaugh of Chambersburg, PA, paternal grandmother Lovetta (Betty) P. Carbaugh of Chambersburg, PA, nephews Brandon, Matthew and Kyle Carbaugh, Joshua and Austin Funk, Camryn Green, niece Jordon Green and grandniece Alexus Carbaugh.  She is also survived by aunts and uncles Shelva and Billy Baker, Kimberly and Brian McNew and Betty and Robert Mellott.  Preceded in death by paternal grandfather Howard F. Carbaugh in 1978, maternal grandparents Stanley L. Crawford in 1986 and Maude E. (Mearkle) Crawford in 1963. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11 A.M. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA with Pastor Gene Harding officiating. Interment at Jerusalem Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg, PA. Visitation will be Friday, July 15, 2011 from 2 to 8 P.M. at Howard L.
