John E. Royal

John E. Royal, 73, of Greencastle, PA passed away Friday, October 1st, 2010 at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA. John was born in Lake Park, GA on November 30, 1936, the son of the late William C. and Mary Etta (Teston) Royal.  He was the husband of Dorothy  (Swope) Royal whom he married in April of 1965. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church in Harrisonville, PA, was a retired security guard and also served in the U.S. Army as a SSG in the Vietnam War. In addition to his wife, he is survived by Daughter Pamela L. (wife of Tim) DeShong of McConnellsburg, PA, Sons Daryl J. (husband of Wendy) Royal of Lititz, PA, John F. (husband of Christine) Royal of Manheim, PA, Grandchildren Amber Royal, Daryl J. Royal II, Justin Royal, Bradley DeShong, Melissa DeShong, Great Grandson Parker Royal, Sisters Wilma Hulsey of Douglas, GA, Doris Stewart of Douglas, GA, Joyce Brown of Moultrie, GA, Brothers William Royal of Morgantown, KY and Robert Royal of Cleveland, OH.  Preceded in death by sister Edna Brantley and brother Charles Royal. Religious Service at Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church, Harrisonville, PA at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 7th, 2010  with Pastor Willis Swope, Pastor Bill Swope and Pastor Dan Porterfield officiating. Interment at Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA. There will be visitation on Wednesday, October 6th, 2010 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the church. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
