Joan H. Kendall

Joan H. Kendall, 76, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Joan was born in Needmore, PA on March 30, 1947, a daughter of the late Thelma (Truax) and Fred E. Mellott.  She was the wife of Thomas F. Kendall, who she married on January 18, 1968. Joan was a homemaker and also worked alongside her husband on the family farm.  She attended the Antioch Christian Church in Big Cove Tannery, PA. Joan was very creative with everything she did.  She implemented her ideas into her gardening, flower beds and crafts.  She also enjoyed making wedding cakes and attending yard sales.   Joan loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Richard T. (husband of Rebecca) Kendall, of McConnellsburg, PA, Daniel E. (husband of Dorothy) Kendall, of McConnellsburg, PA, daughter Wendy (wife of Earl ll ) Edwards, of Big Cove Tannery, PA, brother Jack  Mellott, of Needmore, PA, sisters Althea Kendall, of McConnellsburg, PA,  Betty  Clark, of Needmore, PA, Shirley Miller, of McConnellsburg, PA, Ann  Shade, of Mechanicsburg, PA, Nancy Cromwell, of Harrisonville, PA and Darlene Lininger, of Needmore, PA.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Matthew Kendall, Emily Kendall Brown, Tristan Edwards, Nate Edwards, Katelyn Edwards, Caleb Edwards, Wyatt Kendall and Molly Kendall.  She was preceded in death by an infant son James Morrow Kendall and three brothers Fred LeRoy Mellott, Kenny Mellott and Tom Mellott. There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, July 12th from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 13th,  with Pastor Russell Hoffman officiating.  There will also be one hour of visitation held prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, PA. Arrangements were made by the Howard L.
