Jeanne D. Swope

Jeanne D. Swope, 66, of Harrisonville, PA passed away Sunday, March 19th, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. Jeanne was born in McConnellsburg, PA on November 4, 1950, the daughter of the late Alma Peggy (DeShong) and Blair  Daniels.  She was the wife of Harold "Hap"  Swope whom she married on April 19, 1983. She was a member of the Sideling Hill Christian Church in Needmore, PA as well as their Ladies Aide, retired from JLG in 2015 and worked two days a week in the cafeteria at the Forbes Road School District.  Jeanne enjoyed nature and  especially feeding deer and birds.  She also enjoyed going to the cabin, watching her grandchildren race and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Greg (husband of Teressa) Bard of Wells Tannery, PA, Steve (husband of Shelby) Bard of Harrisonville, PA, step-sons Donald E. Swope of Warfordsburg, PA, Ken (husband of Diane) Swope of Needmore, PA, step-daughter Tina Lindsey of Fayetteville, PA, brothers Gary (husband of Sharon) Daniels of Harrisonville, PA, Perry (husband of Lisa) Daniels of Swansboro, NC, Kenny (husband of Amanda) Daniels of Harrisonville, PA, twenty grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by brother Roger Daniels, infant brother Roy Daniels, grandchildren KW Swope and DJ Swope. Religious Service at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, PA at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 23rd, 2017  with Pastor William Swope and Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 2 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the church. Interment at Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
