Jean V. Davis

Our loving mother Jean V. Davis, 83, of McConnellsburg, PA, went to be with the lord on Monday August 19, 2024, at Green Ridge Village, Newville, PA.

Jean was born on October 29, 1940 in Big Cove Tannery, PA.  A daughter of the late Hayes and Lois (Keefer) Lynch. She was the widow of the late Grayson B. Davis who she married December 7, 1990.  He preceded her in death on April 25, 2007.

She was a friend to many and a cherished member of the community. She was a member of the VFW, Eagles, and Legion and loved visiting for a sweet tea and playing tickets weekly with her son Jeff Skiles. She was a seamstress for 40+ years at the Stanley Company and later retired. Jean loved spending time with her family and friends.

Jean is survived by her three sons, Jeffrey Skiles, of McConnellsburg, PA, Randall Skiles (partner Katrina Brunner), of McConnellsburg, PA, and James (husband of Lisa) Skiles, of Newville, PA.  She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jesica (wife of Adam) Kuhn, of Shippensburg, PA, Amber (wife of Greg) Hornbaker, of McConnellsburg, PA, Tanner (husband of Victoria) Skiles, of Newville, PA, Laykan and Nadasyn Skiles, of McConnellsburg, PA, and  bonus grandchildren, Weston and Kinsey Brunner, Zack Hann (Fiancé Alex Morris), all of McConnellsburg, PA, great grandchildren; Lucille Kuhn, Amelia and Henry Hornbaker, Sutton Edinger-Skiles, and Delilah and Grayson Skiles; Siblings Carl, Fred, and Homer Lynch, all of McConnellsburg, PA, Shirley Woods, of Fannettsburg, PA, and Sandra Yost of Hagerstown, MD. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Lynch and her grandson Brandon Skiles.

To commemorate her incredible journey and celebrate the love she spread, a funeral service will be held in her honor at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., on August, 24, 2024 at 12:00 P.M, with Pastor William McCommons officiating. There will be a visitation held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
