Jay C. Mcelhaney

Jay C. McElhaney, 80, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Sunday, February 2nd, 2014 at his residence. Jay was born in Hustontown, PA on December 25, 1933, the son of the late Harmon E. and Pearl L. (Colledge) McElhaney.  He was the widower of Blanche M. (Gress) McElhaney. Mr. McElhaney was a member of the American Legion Post #561, McConnellsburg, PA the VFW Post #655, McConnellsburg, PA, the Sideling Hill Sportsman's Club and he retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA after working there for thirty-one years. He is survived by Daughter Susan K. (wife of Greg) Cordell of Lancaster, PA, Sons David E. (husband of Lana) McElhaney of McConnellsburg, PA, Dennis J. (husband of Deborah C.) McElhaney of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Step-Daughters Judy A. (wife of Richard) Barnett of Waterfall, PA, Linda (wife of John) DeShong of McConnellsburg, PA, Step-Son Norman Hess of Greencastle, PA, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by sister Betty Remsburg, brothers Marvin and Charles McElhaney. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 6th, 2014  with Pastor John Godissart officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA. There will be visitation on Thursday, February 6th, 2014 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.
