Janet L. Mellott

Janet L. Mellott, 89, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, in McConnellsburg, PA.

Janet was born in McConnellsburg, PA, on February 7, 1935, a daughter of the late Donald "Bucky" R. and Emma (Helman) Truax. She was the wife of Claude "Crow" R. Mellott, who she married on February 13, 1957. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2018.

She graduated from Hustontown High School in 1953. Janet worked as a Teacher's Aide with the Life's Skill Class for many years.  She was an avid gardener, enjoyed bird watching, auto racing, hunting, cooking, and loved her dogs.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa A. (wife of Paul) Johnston, of McConnellsburg, PA. She is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Claude R. Mellott ll, sister Maxine DeShong, and brother Donald Ray Truax Jr.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
