James W. McKeever, 90, of Warfordsburg, PA passed away Thursday, December 22nd, 2011 at his residence.
James was born in Morgantown, WV on October 16, 1921, the son of the late Ernest and Elma (Albright) McKeever.
Mr. McKeever was a World War II veteran serving aboard the U.S.S. Savannah and was a police officer in West Virginia before moving to Pennsylvania where he worked for a number of years in sales. He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry and also was an avid golfer.
James was a long time member of the Cedar Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, PA, the James W. Bowers Masonic Lodge #173 in Hancock, MD and the Harrisburg Consistory.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Alice Jean (Hess) McKeever, Son James Michael (husband of Beverly) McKeever of Hagerstown, MD, Daughters Joan Elaine (wife of Willie) Paken of Bisbee AZ, Cathy Jean (wife of Larry) Blackburn of Bel Air, MD, Jacqueline Lynn (wife of Steve) Clower of Inwood, WV, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by sister Virginia Fullerton.
Religious Service at Cedar Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, PA, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 with Chaplain Dick Bernhard and Pastor John Godissart officiating.
Interment at Cedar Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg, PA.
There will be visitation on Monday, December 26, 2011 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church.
A Masonic service will be held on Monday at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
