James W. "Jim" Mellott, 75, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Thursday, September 1st, 2016 at his residence.
Jim was born in Harrisonville, PA on January 13, 1941, the son of the late Madeline B. (DeShong) and Frederick H. Mellott. He was the husband of Glenda J. (Fogal) Mellott whom he married on May 17, 1986.
He attended the Sideling Hill Christian Church in Needmore, PA and was a member of the Pennsylvania Striped Bass Association whose team name was the Licking Creek Boys. Jim was a mechanic for forty years at various garages before becoming owner/operator of Jim's Garage in Harrisonville, PA. He then traded in his wrenches for spatulas and car grease for cooking grease to start Jim's Concessions which he owned and operated with his wife Glenda. Jim had his own way of doing things, everybody knew he was the boss and it was done his way.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Lisa L. (wife of Brian) Clevenger of McConnellsburg, PA, Christina J. (wife of Jason) Ramsey of McConnellsburg, PA, Dixie L. (wife of Bobby) Summers of Hustontown, PA, sons Fred J. (husband of Lynn) Mellott of McConnellsburg, PA, Travis A. (husband of Deneen) Fogal of Needmore, PA, sister Bonnie J. Clark of Danberry, Connecticut, sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Rodney Clark.
A Memorial Service will be held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 11th, 2016 with Pastor Bill Swope officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 11th, 2016 from 12 to 2 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the Family.
