James Mont Chamberlain, 79, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Thursday, May 23rd, 2013 at 10:30 A.M at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA with his loving family by his bedside.
Jim was born in Wells Tannery, PA on March 19, 1934, the son of the late Mont and Mary (Guillard) Chamberlain. He was the husband of Erma R. (Gress) Chamberlain whom he married on December 24, 1955.
Mr. Chamberlain served in the U.S. Army for two years while spending one year in Korea, was a member of the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church for many years, a member of the VFW Post #655 in McConnellsburg, PA and was last employed by PennDOT.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by Son Mont R. (husband of Reta) Chamberlain, Daughters Tina R. (wife of Gregory) Gress and Dinah S. Chamberlain all of McConnellsburg, PA, Brothers John (husband of Margie) Chamberlain of Wells Tannery, PA, Dan (husband of Nancy) Chamberlain of Wells Tannery, PA, Sister Cherie (wife of the late Clair) Fix of Ft. Littleton, PA. Grandchildren Jennifer L. Culler, Adam G. Gress, Ryan M. Chamberlain, Great Grandchildren Madisyn, Adalynn and Declan James Culler. Preceded in death by granddaughter Amy Jo Chamberlain and nephew Victor Fix.
Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering on the farm with his Ferguson tractor and being with family. He was a devoted follower of baseball and his favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, May 26th, 2013 with Pastor John Godissart officiating.
Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
There will be visitation on Saturday, May 25th, 2013 from 2 to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
