Jack G. Strait

Jack G. Strait, 80, of Warfordsburg, PA passed away Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Jack was born in Warfordsburg, PA on January 25, 1931, the son of the late Claude and Abby (Mellott) Strait.  He was the husband of Norma J. (Peck) Strait whom he married on April 7, 1951. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Christian Church in Warfordsburg, PA, was president of the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Association and was a dairy farmer all of his life. In addition to his wife, he is survived by Sons Thomas L. (husband of Judith Shives) Strait of Warfordsburg, PA, William D. (husband of the late Wilma Weller) Strait of Warfordsburg, PA, James (husband of Vicki Earnest) Strait of Warfordsburg, PA, Grandchildren Scott & Kristina Maranto Strait, Lance & Paula Baier Strait, Michelle & John Hepburn, Joe & Jamie Henry Strait, David Strait, Timothy & Cassie Dobrzanski Strait, Crystal Strait, Amanda & Dustin Vanorsdale, Zachary Strait, Great Grandchildren Regan Hepburn, Ivy, Scarlett, Hannah, Brittany & Will Strait, Dana, Kimber & Cameron Vanorsdale.  Preceded in death by infant sister Dorothy Strait. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 29th, 2011  with Rev. William Kenneth Stottlemyer officiating. Interment at Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg, PA. There will be visitation on Tuesday, June 28th, 2011 from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jack Strait to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Association, in care of Russell Plessinger, 2027 Mountain Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267.
