Jack R. Buterbaugh

Jack  R. Buterbaugh, 83, of McConnellsburg, PA, died Wednesday, July 9th, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Jack  was born in McConnellsburg, PA on September 29, 1930, a son of the late Lucinda (Alexander) and Benjamin R. Buterbaugh. He was the husband of Helen Mae (Dowdy) Buterbaugh, whom he married on June 16, 1978. Jack served in the US Army in his early years  and retired in 1992 from DeRose Industries in Chambersburg, PA.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 561, McConnellsburg, PA and the VFW Post 655, McConnellsburg, PA.  He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and hunting mushrooms. In addition to his wife he is survived by his five children, Donald R. Buterbaugh of McConnellsburg, PA, Ricky L. Dowdy of Upper Strausburg, PA, James W. Rauch of McConnellsburg, PA, Laura A. Pennwell of McConnellsburg, PA,  Shelia K. Rauch of McConnellsburg, PA, and his sister Catherine DeShong of McConnellsburg, PA.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia A. Williams, sisters Shirley Edwards, Becky Carbaugh and brothers Jim, Bob, Scott, Leon, Paul, Donald, and Charles Buterbaugh. Funeral service will be held  at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 14th,  with Rev. Bill Swope officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 2 PM till 8 PM. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be one hour of visitation before the service on Monday at the funeral home.
