Ira E. Daniels, 100, of Needmore, PA passed away Monday, February 15th, 2016 at his residence.
Ira was born in Needmore, PA on January 17, 1916, the son of the late Bertha (Mellott) and Simon Daniels. He was the husband of Hilda (Mellott) Daniels whom he married in 1948.
He served in the U.S. Army as a TEC 5 in WW II, was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church in Harrisonville, PA and was a Union Carpenter Local #616, Chambersburg, PA for fifty-eight years. Ira was an avid hunter and trapper who enjoyed the outdoors.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Wayne Daniels of Needmore, PA, Gary Daniels of Needmore, PA, daughter Donna Ramsey of Needmore, PA, brother L.D. Elda (husband of Elsie) Daniels of Chambersburg, PA, sister Velma Pettingill of Florida, five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by sisters Clara Mellott, Rosa Morris, Blanche Daniels, Ethel Stevens, brother Norman Daniels and one great grandson.
Religious Service at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, PA at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 18th, 2016 with Pastor Bill Swope and Pastor Lyle Mellott officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 17th, 2016 from 2 to 8 PM at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the church.
Interment at Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
