Helen V. (Mosebey) Knepper

Helen Virginia Mosebey Knepper, 100,  of Wells Valley, PA, died peacefully Friday, December 6, 2013, of old age in the Shook Home, Chambersburg, PA. Born August 11, 1913, in Dry Run, PA, she was the wife of the late Don C. Knepper, whom she married on July 11, 1940, and the daughter of the late Mr. Robert L. and Carrie R. Mosebey. Helen was schooled in Wells Valley, Pennsylvania. She was employed at the Long View Lodge and Penn Hall Preparatory School prior to spending most of her life as a wife, mother and home maker. Helen was a member of the Wells Valley Presbyterian Church since October 31, 1926, and was lauded the oldest member until her death. Helen enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, painting, watching the birds, and visiting with her numerous friends and family members. Helen's bright blue eyes lit up each time a new caller stopped by to visit. Helen is survived by her sons;  Rodney C. Knepper, Wells Valley, PA, and James Stephen Knepper, Chambersburg, PA; her sisters Lottie McBride, Harrisburg, PA, and Rebecca Fix, Chambersburg, PA; eight grandchildren, Bryan Knepper, Fayeteville, PA, Collen Knepper, Bedford, PA, Selena Knepper, Mercersburg, PA, Gina Knepper, Evertt, PA, Melissa Jo Knepper, Camp Hill, PA, Joshua Knepper, Chambersburg, PA, Kris Linninger, Chambersburg, PA, and Cheryl Linninger, McConnellsburg, PA , seven great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by siblings; Roselyn Mosebey, Wells Valley, PA, W. Lyle Mosebey, Wells Valley, PA, Glen F. Mosebey, Wells Valley, PA, Dorothy (Dot) Norcross, Shippensburg, PA, and Robert L. Mosebey, Jr., Saxton, PA. A Funeral Service will be held at the Howard L.  Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Bill Myers officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service from 10 to 11 A.M. Internment at the Wells Valley Methodist Cemetery, Wells Tannery, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Shook Home Activities Department at The Shook Home, 55 South Second Street, Chambersburg, PA  17201.
