Hazel M. Sipes

Hazel M. Sipes, 82, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Tuesday, January 17th, 2017 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Hazel was born in McConnellsburg, PA on November 13, 1934, the daughter of the late Ella Lodema (Sharpe) and Ira Russell Mellott.  She was the widow of Marvin O. Sipes whom she married on June 5, 1954 and he passed away on October 12, 2013. Mrs. Sipes was a member of the Knobsville Church of the Brethren in McConnellsburg, PA and was a homemaker.  Hazel enjoyed Potter County, camping and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by daughters Maye Houck of Greencastle, PA, Lori A. (wife of Russell) Miller of Big Cove Tannery, PA, son Russell N. Sipes of McConnellsburg, PA, six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by brothers Bennett and Glenn Mellott. Religious Service at Knobsville Church of the Brethren, McConnellsburg, PA at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 21st, 2017  with Pastor Chris Elliott officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, January 21st, 2017 from 12 PM to 2 PM   at Knobsville Church of the Brethren, McConnellsburg, PA. Interment at Knobsville Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
