Harold R. Mcquade

Harold R. McQuade, 86, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, August 26th, at his residence.

Harold was born in McConnellsburg, PA on September 30, 1933, a son of the late Martha E. (Seiders) and John  A. McQuade.  He was the husband of Olga E. (Wolfe) McQuade,whom he married September 14, 1954.

Harold served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Freedom Worship Center Ft. Littleton, PA  and the Mercersburg Sportsman Club.  He owned and operated his sawmill for approximately fifty years.   Harold never met a stranger,  he was a very gifted story teller and  loved to share them with anyone that would listen.  He was also a very generous man, giving alot of time to people in need of a helping hand.  Harold loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, but bear hunting was his favorite.

In addition to his wife, Harold is survived  by his daughters; Mary E. Rasp, of Greencastle, PA,  Ann M. (companion of Charles Hall) Barnett, of Greencastle, PA, Susan K. (wife of Scott) DeShong, of McConnellsburg, PA, Becky R. (wife of Shawn) Shaffer, of McConnellsburg, PA, Jana L. (companion of Duane Lapp) McQuade, of Greencastle, PA, sisters Esther (wife of Richard) Miller, of McConnellsburg, PA, Marna (wife of Donald) Lake , of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Susan (wife of Willard) Hill, of Needmore, PA and brother David "Mac" McQuade, of McConnellsburg, PA.  He is also survived by six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by a grandson James R. Reesor.

Funeral services will be held at the Freedom Worship Center, Ft. Littleton, PA, at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 28th,  with Pastor Kevin Wade officiating.  There will also be one hour of visitation before the service at the church.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
