Freeda A. Mellott

Freeda A. Mellott, 90, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Sunday, January 1st, 2017 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA. Freeda was born in Saluvia, PA on February 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Maude (Strait) and Charles E. Cline.  She was the widow of Ferman C. Mellott whom she married on August 11, 1945 and he passed away on April 28, 2001. Mrs. Mellott was a member of the Sideling Hill Christian Church in Needmore, PA and retired from the Stanley Company in Chambersburg, PA. She is survived by sons Delano C. Mellott and Douglas R. Mellott both of Chambersburg, PA, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 4th, 2017  with Pastor William Swope officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 from 10 AM to 11 AM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Interment at Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
