Franklin D. "Delmar" Mellott

Franklin D. "Delmar" Mellott, A.K.A. Pappy Pete,  71, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Saturday, May 21st, 2016 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Delmar was born in McConnellsburg, PA on November 5, 1944, the son of the late Beulah E. (Dawes)  and Samuel E. Mellott. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, PA.  Delmar was a diesel mechanic and enjoyed fixing things whenever he was able too.  In his younger years, he was diagnosed with MS but he never let that stop him from doing the things he enjoyed or as he would put it " I will  live forever." He is survived by  son Jeffrey A. (wife of Kate) Mellott of McConnellsburg, PA, daughter Jackie D. (companion Charlie Glenn) Mellott of McConnellsburg, PA, sisters Joycelene (wife of Woody) Strait of Harrisonville, PA, Dorothy Knepper of Hustontown, PA, brother Ernie (husband of Nancy) Mellott of Greencastle, PA, brother Jim Mellott of Greencastle,  PA  and three grandchildren. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016  with Pastor Donald Bard officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
