Florence W. Fix

Florence W. Fix, 86, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Tuesday, May 26th, 2015 at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg,  PA. Florence was born in Crystal Springs, PA on November 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Chloe O'Dessie (Dishong) and William C. Welsh.  She was the widow of Harold L. Fix whom she married in 1963 and he passed away in 1998. Mrs. Fix was a member of the Knobsville Church of the Brethren, McConnellsburg, PA, the American Legion Post# 561 Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Post# 655 Ladies Auxiliary both of McConnellsburg, PA.   She had worked at the Sagner and Greif sewing factories for twenty-four years and then retired from cooking at the VFW Post# 655 in McConnellsburg, PA and the Great Cove Golf Course in McConnellsburg, PA Florence is survived by Sons Terry L. (husband of Vickie) Fix of McConnellsburg, PA, Tim L. (husband of Susan) Fix of Hustontown, PA, Harold L. Fix, Jr. of McConnellsburg, PA, Sisters Opel Raker of Mercersburg, PA, Helen Keefer of Mercersburg, PA, Betty Mellott of McConnellsburg, PA, Sue Yeager of Hustontown, PA, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by sisters Amy Drenning, Irene Feight, Alice Mellott, Faye Koontz, Goldie Kerlin, brothers James A. Welsh and David Welsh. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 31st, 2015  with Pastor Chris Elliott and Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, May 30th, 2015 from 2 to 8 PM.   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
