Evelyn L. Hess

Evelyn L. Hess, 89, a resident of the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Unit in McConnellsburg, PA passed away Thursday, November 28th, 2019 at Fulton County Medical Center , McConnellsburg, PA.

Evelyn was born in Maugansville, MD on February 25, 1930, the daughter of the late Grace V. (Hufner) and Russell G. Williams.  She was the widow of Walter W. Hess whom she married on August 31, 1974 and he passed away on August 4, 2001.

In  her earlier years, she attended Clayton Memorial Church of God in Mercersburg, PA and then attended My Fathers House Ministries in McConnellsburg, PA.  She was a seamstress at the Stanley Sewing Factory in Chambersburg, PA, a homemaker and also helped her late husband on the family farm

Evelyn is survived by step-son Roy (husband of Dixie) Hess, of McConnellsburg, PA, daughter-in-law Valeska Peck, of Shippensburg, PA, sisters Pauline Weaver, of Tulsa, OK, Myrtle Nitchman, of Harrisburg, PA, Sarah Sandy, of Ames, Iowa, twin sister Ethel Ulsh, of Battlefield, Missouri, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Evelyn was preceded in death by son Rallin L. Peck, sister Laura Straley and brother John Williams.

Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019  with Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating.  Visitation will be one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment at Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery, Needmore, PA.
