Evelyn C. Gobin

Evelyn C. Gobin, 99, McConnellsburg, PA, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 31, 2024 at home with her daughters at her side. She was born July 6, 1925 in Adel, Iowa, the daughter of Charles A. Cutchall and Edith W. (Sayre) Cutchall. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Victor K. Gobin, two sisters, Bonnie Sipes, Pauline Kopec, and brother Wayne Cutchall. She is survived by daughters Vickie Gobin Gordon and husband Greg of McConnellsburg and Valerie Gobin Park and husband John of Fayetteville, PA. She also had 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren: Lisa Gordon Hosmann (Patrick) of Cornelius, NC and their children Elizabeth and Arabella; Holly (Gordon) Stambaugh of McConnellsburg and daughter Bristol; Amie Park Wilson (Brian) of Vienna, VA and sons Fletcher and Sidney; Sarah Park Shirck (Adam) of Vienna, VA and children Jack and Charlotte; Stephen Park (Tess) of Philadelphia; sister-in-law Anne Gobin of McConnellsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. During her younger years, Evelyn worked at Letterkenny, Fairchild, and Sagner. She was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a founding member of the Green Hill Sewing Club where she served as treasurer. Evelyn moved to Pennsylvania when she was 4 years old and was the oldest member of the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed traveling, attending plays, reading, and most of all, spending time with family. The service will be held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 A.M on Saturday November 9, 2024, with Pastor Michelle Price officiating. There will be one hour of visitation held prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
