Esther E. (Deshong) Mellott

Esther E. Mellott, 78, a resident of the Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA and formerly of St. Thomas, PA passed away Friday, March 29th, 2013 at Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA. Esther was born in Harrisonville, PA on November 18, 1934, the daughter of the late Elvey and Regina (Decker) Deshong.  She was the widow of Grover E. Mellott who passed away in September of 2007. Mrs. Mellott was a member of the Christian Life Church in Chambersburg, PA and was a  homemaker. She is survived by Daughter Doris Fortney of Chambersburg, PA, Son Philip (husband of Patty) Mellott of St. Thomas, PA, Brother Gilbert Deshong of McConnellsburg, PA, Grandchildren Mike (husband of Carol) Fortney, Tyler Mellott, Michele (wife of Brian) Plasterer, Heather (wife of Joel) Rotz and four great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by sisters Nettie Boisvert, Dorothy Hann, Blanche Strait, Anna Mae Clevenger, brothers Wishard, James and George Oliver Deshong. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013  with Pastor Wiley and Pastor Barnett officiating. Interment at Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery, Needmore, PA. There will be visitation on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Howard L.
