Erma R. (Gress) Chamberlain

Erma R. Chamberlain, 81, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Monday, July 20th, 2015 at Pinnacle Health Hospital, Harrisburg, PA. Erma was born in McConnellsburg, PA on November 24, 1933, the daughter of the late Ruth (Souders) and Walter  Gress.  She was the widow of James Mont Chamberlain whom she married on December 24, 1955 and he passed away on May 23, 2013. Mrs. Chamberlain was a member of the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, worked at  the Sagner Sewing Factory in McConnellsburg, PA and then at the Central Fulton School District Cafeteria in McConnellsburg, PA upon retiring after twenty-five plus years of service.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, quilting and her cats. Erma is survived by Son Mont R. (husband of Reta) Chamberlain of McConnellsburg, PA, Daughters Tina R. (wife of Gregory) Gress of McConnellsburg, PA, Dinah S. Chamberlain of McConnellsburg, PA, Grandchildren Jennifer L. Culler, Adam G. Gress, Ryan M. Chamberlain, Great Grandchildren Madisyn, Adalynn and Declan James Culler and numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded death by Russell and Maude Thomas who raised her, sisters Mary E. DeShong, Millie Wentz, brother Lawrence Gress and granddaughter Amy Jo Chamberlain. Religious Service at McConnellsburg United Methodist Church, McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 24th, 2015  with Pastor Robin Bair officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 23rd, 2015 from 2 to 8 PM   at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Friday at the church. Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church New Building Fund, 121 North Second Street, McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
