Elsie Mae (Clark) Schooley, 91, of Mercersburg, PA, and formerly of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, November 22nd, at her daughter's residence.
Elsie was born in Everett, PA on March 15, 1926, a daughter of the late Jennie (Barton ) and Andrew Clark. She was the widow of Lawrence S. Schooley, whom she married on January 26, 1953. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2015.
In her early years, Elsie worked at the Olmsted Air Force Base in Middletown, PA. She retired from there before moving to McConnellsburg, where she opened a beauty shop. She also worked for Sagner in McConnellsburg, PA and Pepple's Kobweb Korner in Harrisonville, PA. In her free time, Elsie enjoyed traveling and reading. She was also a long time member of the Greenhill Sewing Club, Harrisonville, PA and she attended Siloam United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, PA .
She is survived by her two chidlren, Gary S. Schooley, of McConnellsburg, PA and Tonia C. Metcalf, of Mercersburg, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son John Thomas Cumor, brothers; Theodore, Paul, Randolph, Clayton, W. David, and Carl Clark, sisters; Olye Scott, Carolyn Booker and Emily Clark and a great great granddaughter Kinley Sophia Rock.
Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 25th, with Pastor Gary Zook officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery Harrisonville, PA.
