Elmer J. Carbaugh

Elmer J. Carbaugh, 72, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Friday, December 22nd, at his home. Elmer was born in McConnellsburg, PA on November 1, 1945, a son of the late Lillian "Maye" (Keefer) and Daniel  Carbaugh.  He was the husband of Cindy A. (Hull) Carbaugh., whom he married on May 17, 1964. Elmer was a heavy equipment operator for various contractors through out his life. He was a great outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses, mushroom hunting and cutting wood. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Melanie A. (wife of Arnold "Buck") Younker of Big Cove Tannery, PA, Stacy E. (wife of Jackie) Morton of Big Cove Tannery, PA and Connie L. (wife of Kelly) Souders of McConnellsburg, PA. He is also survived by a sister Jessie Unger of Hagerstown, MD, four grandchildren, Brad (husband of Karla) Younker, Justin Younker, Jamie (Wife of Dustin) Bivens, Taylor Morton, three great grandchildren: Luke and Avery Bivens and Oaklyn Younker.  He was preceded in death by brothers Robert, Harold, Daniel, Harry and John Carbaugh. There will a visitation held on  Tuesday, December 26th from 6 to 8 PM. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.  There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 27th,  with Pastor Dick Bernhard officiating. Interment will be at Damascus Cemetery Big Cove Tannery, PA.
